How to Invade Domains in Jujutsu Shenanigans

“Entering a domain” means two different things: casting your own domain expansion (fill the awakening bar, then press R while awakened), or literally breaking into someone else’s active domain. The reliable invasion tool is Megumi — stand against the domain wall and use Shadow Swarm to tear a hole into it.

What “Invading a Domain” Means

Most players use the phrase for breaking and entering: another player has popped their domain, everyone inside is taking sure-hit damage, and you want in — or want them out. But the same question is also asked by players who simply cannot figure out how to cast their own domain in the first place. This guide covers both, because the two questions share one keyword but different answers.

Can Every Character Invade?

Megumi is the only character with a fully documented invasion tool (Shadow Swarm). A popular video (570K+ views) claims to show domain invasion with every character, but it is two years old and has no transcript, so its methods are 待确认. Community threads ask about Hakari specifically — per current documentation, Hakari relies on his own domain (Idle Death Gamble) rather than an invasion tool.

How to Cast Your Own Domain

The flow is: fill your awakening bar (the orange bar at the bottom), press D to enter your awakened/ultimate state, then cast the domain with R on PC. On console it is the D-pad, and on mobile you tap the special/star icon. Your character then performs the domain expansion with its full cutscene.

Domain expansions are the ultimate pressure tool: while active, everyone inside is subject to the domain’s sure-hit effect. Some domains last surprisingly long — Restless Gambler’s Idle Death Gamble and Defense Attorney’s Deadly Sentencing are the marathon domains in the roster.

Megumi’s Shadow Swarm Invasion

Ten Shadows (Megumi) is the designated domain invader. He has no domain expansion of his own — but when you use Shadow Swarm against a domain border, he lays out his own hidden domain, Chimera Shadow Garden, creating a hole in the target domain that lets you invade through it.

The mechanics while the portal is active: all players except the user are free to enter or leave the invaded domain. The user stays in place while their health bar depletes from the strain of holding the portal. It closes when you use Shadow Swarm again, get hit, or run out of health.

What Happens Inside an Invaded Domain

While Chimera Shadow Garden is active, the invaded domain’s sure-hit effects are disabled: Infinite Void’s stun, Malevolent Shrine’s slashes, Embodiment of Self-Perfection’s transfiguration bar drain, and Time Cell Moon Palace’s frame shatter. That is the real value of the invasion — you turn the opponent’s win button into a plain arena.

Note the cost asymmetry: the invader pays with their own health while holding the portal, so the counterplay is simply waiting the invader out or hitting them to close the hole.

Breaking the Barrier Instead

A second, blunter approach exists: deal enough damage to the domain shell and the barrier shatters, ending the domain for everyone inside. Community footage shows Megumi’s Shadow Swarm being used directly at the domain wall for exactly this, and a “rush” option is mentioned in the same tutorial — though the rush’s exact conditions are 待确认.

Whether you hole-punch or shatter, the principle is the same: domains are not invincible boxes, and a prepared opponent can punish a careless expansion. The wiki also documents domain destruction as its own mechanic — some domain structures can be damaged or destroyed outright. The specifics are 待确认, but it reinforces the core lesson: a domain is a temporary advantage, not a win condition.

Domain Clash

The domain system includes a Domain Clash mechanic: when two domains expand into each other, they clash, and the wiki dedicates a full section to it. The exact clash resolution rules were not captured in this pass (待确认), but the existence of the mechanic means a well-timed expansion can neutralize an enemy domain before invasion even matters — the best invasion is the one your opponent never completes.

Gojo’s 0.2-Second Domain

Honored One (Gojo) has a 0.2-second domain variant — a mini version of Infinite Void that trades duration for surprise. The input is fast: press G then R quickly. It is the classic answer to “can Gojo use a small domain?” and a favorite tool for catching opponents who thought they had time to escape.

Domain Data Reference

Two concrete data points from the wiki’s domain records: Malevolent Shrine (Vessel) lasts 18 seconds and deals 218 HP worth of slashes (54.5 when blocked), and Embodiment of Self Perfection (Perfection) lasts 14 seconds, draining a meter that detonates the victim if fully emptied. These numbers help you decide whether to invade, shatter, or simply run.

When to Invade vs. When to Run

Invasion is a commitment: Megumi pays health to hold the portal, so only invade when the domain is actually dangerous — Malevolent Shrine’s damage or Perfection’s detonation bar justify the cost. Against short domains, running is free: wait out the timer outside the barrier. Against marathon domains like Deadly Sentencing, invasion or shattering is the only real answer.

How to Practice Domain Tech

Set up a private server with a friend (or a mod) who can cast a domain on demand — community test footage does exactly this: the tester asks their mod to pop a domain while they stay outside, then practices the breach. Repeat until the Shadow Swarm placement on the barrier is muscle memory, and drill the GR 0.2-domain input until it is one motion.

One more cosmetic detail: domains come with their own tracks and cutscenes, and the wiki documents them separately. If a cutscene plays on every expansion, that is the game’s way of announcing the moment to the whole lobby.

待确认 — domain durations, damage and the 0.2-second variant are patch-sensitive; figures come from the Fandom domain page and a March 2026 tutorial video. The “rush” invasion detail was mentioned but not fully documented.
